The second two-day training session «Expansion of opportunities for cooperation of Ukrainian and European innovation technology enterprises for increasing participation in international science and technology projects within EC 7 Framework Program».

The second two-day training session within the BOOST-IT Project “Set-up of a Collaborative Permanent Network for Boosting the participation of Incubated SMEs in Innovation Processes under FP6 Activities” takes place on October 30-31, 2006 in the Small Conference Hall of the STC “Institute for Single Crystals”. Day 1: Workshop «Business Plan as a Tool for Innovative Companies», Day 2: Workshop «Introduction to FP7 and its Financial Rules».

The workshops focus on the new FP7 Financial Regulations of the Framework Program from the SMEs perspective. The workshops are directed to small and medium-sized enterprises and R&D groups – clients of the Kharkov Technology Business incubator which will be held as part of the BOOST-IT project Goal of the workshops is:
1. To provide Incubated companies with the basic information on the FP7 Financial Regulations.
2. To encourage companies to regard Framework Program R&D projects as an effective way to grow.
3. To introduce business-planning aspects to the TBI incubated companies.

Workshop is delivered by Robert Girejko, Poland
Robert Girejko is practitioner in regional development, business support and training programs. Multiyear experience in managing a regional development agency in north-east Poland and a training company. Coordinator of wide spectrum of national and international projects in SME support (business advisory services, information and cooperation, investment and service grant schemes for SMEs, financial services, esp. micro-loans, professional business training and employment, entrepreneurship education). Participant in regional development processes. Trainer on business management (strategic management, marketing, finance, business planning) and project management. Business advisor to many small and medium size enterprises.
Holder of: MAE degree (Warsaw School of Economics, Poland), MBA degree (Heriot-Watt University, UK), Humphrey Program Certificate in Public Policy (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA), Postgraduate Certificate in European Studies (European Reasearch Institue, UK), Project Management Professional Certificate, PMP® .

Overview of FP7. Overview of ICT Programme.
Funding schemes (CP, NoE, CSA).
Process (available documents, ways to participate).
Financials - Phases - Maximum funding rates for different types of costs - Overheads - Consortium Management Costs - Eligible Costs - Allowable costs within: R&D, Innovation, Demonstration, Training; Management;
Financials - Payment Schedule - Reporting, Cost statements and Audit Certificates - Financial Plan - Collective Responsibility (Technical, Financial);
Consortium Agreement (Mandatory, Content and importance of the agreement, IPR)

Workshop is delivered by Michael Remes, EFPC Consulting, Israel
Michael has a B.Sc. in Computing science and 20 years of postgraduate experience in the areas of software development, project management and business development within the European and U.S. marketplaces. He also started up and ran a Biomedical company specialising in providing image analysis solutions to pharmaceutical companies. This company took part in several successful EU RTD proposals. Michael has been employed in a number of project management and consultancy capacities working with International pharmaceutical companies and telecommunication companies in the areas of e-commerce and interactive television. He has been involved in EU framework programmes since the 4th framework programme and has much experience in assisting companies with all aspects of developing and writing project proposals involving innovative technologies.
Michael is one of the founders of EFPConsulting and a director of the company. Roles include Business Development, Project Management, EU consultancy.
In addition, Michael is a Member of European Subcommittee of the Israel Grid Association (www.grid.org.il)
